Card Sixteen is the card of necessary destruction โ the revelation that dismantles what was built on false premises. The lightning bolt does not discriminate: it strikes the crown (highest achievement) first. The fall of the figures is not death โ they are alive, arms wide. What they built has fallen; they have not.

Upright, the Tower announces a sudden, significant disruption โ something that appeared stable has been revealed as fundamentally unsound and is now collapsing. This can be a relationship, a career situation, a belief system, a financial arrangement, or a self-image.
